SECTION 1:

INSTALLING AN HHC ON A NEW PREP

Unpack and begin installing the Prep, following the instructions in the Prep Welcome Packet (A). The instructions will indicate to install the HHC at Step 20 ; return to these instructions at that point.

Ducts, screws, and a screwdriver are included in the HHC box. The duct and cover must be carefully installed on the correct sides as shown.

Remove the rubber plug shown in red by pulling on one of the tabs. 3

Place the HHC in the back-left corner of the deck area. 4

Attach the HHC to the Prep using a 3 mm hex wrench and one of the included screws. The Prep comes with a set of hex wrenches for installation and maintenance. The HHC will sit completely flat when correctly installed. 5

Secure the power/ communication cable using the cable bracket and included screw. 6

Unscrew the accessory port cover and screw in the HHC cable. Make sure the cable is attached tightly. 7

Resume Prep installation at Step 22 in the Prep welcome packet (A). 8

SECTION 2: UPGRADING AN EXISTING PREP WITH AN HHC

Remove the 8-site deck and set it aside. Store the old deck in a safe location. 2

Power off the Prep and disconnect the power cable.

Connecting an HHC to a Prep while powered on can result in damage to both devices.

Place the HHC in the back-left corner of the deck area. The HHC will sit completely flat when correctly installed. 5

Install the 7-site deck:

Plug in and power on the Prep. Confirm that the HHC is connected:

A. Remove the deck and base plates

from their packaging.

A. Sign in, if prompted.

B. Place the deck frame on the Prep. The sites numbered 4 and 8 should be at the front. C. Install the base plates for each site. Press down on each plate to ensure they are secure.

B. Tap “New Protocol”

C. Select either “Detect” or “Add” on the Place Labware page.

D. Confirm that site one, the back left site,

has a thermometer symbol to the left of the site.
