SECTION 1:

INSTALLING AN HHS ON A NEW PREP

Unpack and begin installing the Prep, following the instructions in the Prep Welcome Packet (A). The instructions will indicate to install the HHS at Step 22 ; return to these instructions at that point. 1

Place the HHS in the back- left corner of the deck area. 2

SECTION 1: INSTALLING AN HHS ON A NEW PREP

Attach the HHS to the Prep using a 3 mm hex wrench and one of the included screws. The Prep comes with a set of hex wrenches for installation and maintenance. 3

Secure the power/ communication cable using the cable bracket and included screw. 4

Unscrew the accessory port cover and screw in the HHS cable. Make sure the cable is attached tightly. 5

Resume installing the Prep, starting with installing the deck, at Step 23 in the Prep Welcome Packet (A). 6

SECTION 2: UPGRADING AN EXISTING PREP WITH AN HHS

Power off the Prep and disconnect it from power. If an HHS is connected while the Prep is on, the Prep or HHS could be damaged. 1

Remove the 8-site deck and set it aside. Store the old deck in a safe location. 2

SECTION 2: UPGRADING AN EXISTING PREP WITH AN HHS

Place the HHS in the back- left corner of the deck area. 3

Attach the HHS to the Prep using a 3 mm hex wrench and one of the included screws. The Prep comes with a set of hex wrenches for installation and maintenance. 4

Secure the power/ communication cable using the cable bracket and included screw. 5

Unscrew the accessory port cover and screw in the HHS cable. Make sure the cable is attached tightly. 6

Install the 7-site deck:

A. R emove the deck and base plates

from their packaging.

B. P lace the deck frame on the Prep. The sites numbered 4 and 8 should be at the front. C. Install the base plates for each site. Press down on each plate to make sure it is secure.

Plug in the Prep, power it on, and confirm that the HHS is connected:

A. Sign in, if prompted.

B. Tap New Protocol.

C. Select either Detect or Add on the Place Labware page. D. C onfirm that site 1, the back-left site, is grayed out and says

“HHS.” If the HHS does not appear, contact Hamilton support.
